From July 4 to 18, 2026, teams from the Northern Hemisphere traveled to the Southern Hemisphere to face their first opponents and finally kick off the Nations Championship. At the end of this first round, the Southern Hemisphere holds the advantage, with South Africa—the two-time defending world champion—and New Zealand each having accumulated 15 points following their three victories. In the Northern Hemisphere, France’s Les Bleus lead the provisional standings with 12 points, closely followed by Scotland with 11 points and sky-high confidence after a sensational match against Fiji.
The tables are now turning with the Northern Hemisphere series: three matchdays in our hemisphere to consolidate positions or completely shake up the standings ahead of the Finals Weekend, which will take place November 27–29 in London.
