This year, the Nations Championship makes its debut on the rugby scene. This new tournament, held every two years, splits the best teams from the Northern Hemisphere: England, France, Ireland, Italy, Scotland and Wales - against the best teams from the Southern Hemisphere: Argentina, Australia, Fiji, Japan, New Zealand and South Africa.
The first phase of the competition , the Southern Series took place in July, and it is now followed by a second phase in November: the Northern Series. The south countries will now head north for this new round.
The Finals Weekend, which will determine the final standings of the Championship, will be held November 27–29 in London. There are two competitions in one: the best nation and the dominant hemisphere will be decided in three double headers across Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
